Ferrous Sulfate Monohydrate

Ferrous sulfate monohydrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula FeSO4·H2O. It is a white powder, odorless, soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol. Adding a certain amount can adjust the pH value in alkaline water, combine organically with suspended solids in the water, and accelerate precipitation. It is mainly used in water purification and industrial wastewater treatment, and has a bactericidal effect at the same time.

Product Features

  • Physical properties: White solid powder, weak hygroscopicity (much lower than ferrous sulfate heptahydrate), not easy to agglomeration, strong storage stability, and soluble in water.
  • Chemical properties: The aqueous solution is weakly acidic (pH0-4.0), easily oxidized to trivalent iron, has reducing and flocculating effects, and is slightly corrosive to metals.

Product Advantages

  1. Convenient storage and transportation: it does not contain crystalline water and has a low water content (≤1.0%), no special moisture-proof measures are required.
  2. High active ingredient: the Fe content is ≥30%, and the iron replenishment/flocculation efficiency per unit mass is better than ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, also the measurement is more accurate.
  3. Wide range of application scenarios:
  • Water treatment: high-efficiency flocculant, removes suspended solids and phosphorus from the water, and reduces the eutrophication of the water body.
  • Agriculture: As an iron fertilizer, it improves soil iron deficiency anemia and improves crop quality.
  • Industry: Used in pigments, battery manufacturing, etc., especially suitable for moisture-sensitive production processes.
