Polyaluminium Chloride

Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) is an inorganic polymer flocculant. The solid polyaluminium chloride readily absorbs moisture and forms lumps, and is highly soluble in water. It is a type of cationic polymer flocculant and is widely used in wastewater treatment.

Polyaluminium Chloride Description

Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) is an inorganic polymeric water treatment chemical. It has a high molecular weight and charge density due to the bridging effect of hydroxide ions and the polymerization of polyvalent anions. It is a light yellow powder that readily absorbs moisture and forms lumps and dissolves easily in water.

Polyaluminium chloride forms flocs rapidly with high activity and excellent filterability. With strong adaptability, it can be applied in water with a wide pH range and multiple industries. Polyaluminium chloride effectively removes heavy metals and radioactive contaminants from water.

Polyaluminium chloride is primarily used for purifying drinking water, industrial wastewater, and treating various wastewater streams and sewage. It shows significant efficacy in treating industrial wastewater containing iron, chromium, manganese, zinc, phenols, sulfur, fluoride, etc.

Polyaluminium Chloride Applications

Municipal and Industrial Water Treatment

Polyaluminium chloride is used in drainage purification and wastewater treatment, such as purification of urban and industrial drainage, river water, reservoir water, and groundwater. It is also used in the recovery of useful substances from various industrial wastewater and waste residues.

Papermaking

Polyaluminium chloride primarily functions as a retention aid, filtration aid, or anion impurity scavenger in papermaking. It is also used for wastewater and clean water treatment during papermaking processes.

Textiles

Wastewater from the textile and dyeing industry is characterized by high volume, deep color, and high organic pollutant content. Polyaluminium chloride can effectively accelerate sedimentation during these wastewater treatment processes. Additionally, it provides wrinkle resistance to fabrics.

Mining

PAC used in mineral washing and mineral-water separation can facilitate the separation of water from mineral to enable water reuse.

Oil Extraction

PAC functions as an oil displacement agent, water blocking and adjusting agent, drilling fluid modifier, and fracturing fluid additive in the oil extraction industry.

Agriculture & Aquaculture

In agricultural irrigation, PAC enhances soil moisture retention, inhibits crust formation, and improves water infiltration. In aquaculture, it is a disinfectant and deodorizer while effectively removing organic matter from water.

Polyaluminium Chloride Package & Storage
