International industry university research collaboration to solve the problem of palm oil wastewater treatment in Southeast Asia
The palm oil industry in Southeast Asia emits over 2 billion tons of wastewater annually, and the difficulty in treating it hinders the development of the industry. Zhongda Oasis and National University of Malaysia have launched a joint research project to establish a tropical wastewater laboratory at the Yichang Research Center. Utilizing locally developed enzymatic degradation technology, specialized water treatment agents have been developed.
Experimental data shows that the agent has a 96% oil removal rate and an increased COD degradation rate of 85% for palm oil wastewater, and is suitable for high temperature environments of 35-40 ℃. At present, both parties are preparing for a pilot base, planning to transform technological achievements into an integrated solution of "chemicals+equipment" to serve the green production of Southeast Asian palm oil enterprises.
